Soma Counselling was founded on the belief that healing takes place within community, not apart from it. Their mission is to partner with faith communities in Vancouver, helping them bring healing to hurting people within their day to day life. They needed a brand, website and communication strategy to launch effectively and gain momentum in a society that’s often unprepared to address mental health issues.
Based on primary research and interviews with community leaders, I identified a strategic target audience for Soma to engage in their communications through their website and through educational workshops. After helping Soma refine their value proposition, I created a visual identity that reflects their mission with subtlety while conveying a modern, authentic aesthetic.
The response to Soma's launch was overwhelmingly positive, with their kick-off event exceeding attendee expectations and their target audience immediately spreading word of mouth referrals to Soma's practice.
